300-Hour Level 5 Advanced TEFL Diploma
- The highest Level 5 TEFL qualification
- 300 guided learning hours
- For experienced and career-focused teachers
- Internationally recognised certification
The 300-Hour Level 5 Advanced TEFL Diploma is the highest TEFL qualification available. It is aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and awarded by Highfield Qualifications under Ofqual regulation.
In scale and depth it compares to a Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE) or a Foundation Degree. Employers treat it accordingly: it shows a serious, sustained commitment to the profession.
The programme starts from core topics — lesson planning, classroom management — and moves into specialist ground: pronunciation, vocabulary and working with different kinds of learners.
The qualification is valid for life. It opens doors both to schools abroad and to organisations that teach remotely.

What this course gives you
The top of the ladder
There is no higher TEFL qualification. In a competitive market it separates you from other candidates immediately.
Extended scope
300 guided learning hours — considerably more than the core diploma. More hours means more practice and deeper specialisation.
Verifiable anywhere
Because the qualification sits inside the UK regulatory system, an employer in another country can check it independently.
Valid for life
No retake and no annual renewal. You earn it once and it stays with you.
Who this course is for
- You have English at B2 or above, evidenced by a certificate

- You want a qualification that is recognised internationally
Course modules
1The principles of teaching English grammar
A full overview of English grammar. To teach it with confidence you first have to be at ease with it yourself.
2The principles of teaching English vocabulary
How vocabulary groups together, the conditions under which a learner actually retains a new word, and which classroom techniques work.
3Learners' needs and teaching methodologies
The main TEFL methodologies and lesson structures: how each one works and which group it suits.
4The principles of teaching receptive skills
Listening and reading, and the tasks that get a learner using those skills as much as possible.
5The principles of teaching productive skills
Speaking and writing — the techniques that move a learner towards fluency and clear written English.
6The principles of teaching pronunciation and phonology
If a learner cannot be understood, the other skills do not help. This module covers how pronunciation is taught in class.
7Teaching aids and materials
Choosing coursebooks, visual aids and digital tools, and adapting them to the aim of the lesson.
8Lesson planning and classroom management
Building an efficient lesson and managing the learning environment so learners get the most out of their time.
9Teaching English to adults
What motivates an adult learner, how a lesson adapts to them, and how to evaluate your own plans critically.
10Teaching English to young learners
Working with children, typically 6–13: holding attention, managing the class and planning for that age group.
The list covers the core modules of the programme. Credit values and the hour breakdown are confirmed during your consultation.
